[03:24.62]This week we asked students at New Star High School about the best was to learn more English.
[03:33.58]Many said they learn by using English.
[03:38.02]Some students had more specific¹ suggestions.
[03:41.39]Lillian Li, for example, said the best way to learn new words was by reading English magazines.
[03:49.83]She said that memorizing the words of pop songs also helped a little.
[03:48.83]When we asked about studying grammar, she said, “I never study grammar.
[03:54.47]It’s too boring.”
[03:56.14]Wei Ming feels differently.
[03:59.90]He’s been learning² English for six years and really loves it.
[04:04.66]He thins studying grammar is a great way to learn a language.
[04:09.02]He also thinks that watching English movies isn’t a bad way because he can watch the actors say the words.

[07:52.18]Last year my English class was difficult for me.
[07:56.83]First of all, it wasn’t easy for to understand the teacher when she talked to the class.
[08:03.39]To begin with, she spoke⁸ too quickly, and I couldn’t understand every word.
[08:10.02]Later on, I realized that it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand every word.
[08:16.79]Also I was afraid to speak in class, because I thought my classmates might laugh at me.

[08:28.47]Then I started to watch English-language TV.
