The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says Pakistan is not alone in the fight against terrorism. Mrs. Clinton arrived for a three-day visit to Pakistan just hours before a car bomb killed more than 90 people in the northern city of Peshawar.

United Nation’s Chief Ban Ki-moon has condemned¹ the Taliban attack which killed six UN workers in Afghanistan. The Taliban says the attack is the first step in its bid to disrupt next week’s presidential runoff election.

Indonesia says it won’t use force to remove a group of 78 asylum² seekers from an Australian customs ship. The Oceanic Viking has been anchored off the coast of Indonesia since Monday. The group was to be housed in an Indonesia detention³ center under a deal struck between Canberra and Jakarta.

The Federal Opposition⁴ says a Senate inquiry⁵ is needed to examine safety concerns and routine of the government‘s three-billion-dollar insulation⁶ program. It will move to set up an inquiry today, because it says millions of dollars have been wasted and botched jobs have sparked house fires

And India has beaten Australia by 99 runs in Nagpur to level the seven-match one-day Cricket series at one all. Australia was dismissed for 255 in the 49th over.
