The search continues for a plane carrying six Australian mining executives that's gone missing in West Africa. The men from Sundance Resources were planning to inspect iron ore sites. The plane carrying 11 people including mining magnate Ken¹ Talbot was due to arrive in the Congo on Saturday night after leaving Cameroon.

Opposition² Leader Tony Abbott is gaining ground on Kevin Rudd as the preferred prime minister according to the latest Newspoll. Support for Mr Abbott jumped four percentage points to 37 per cent.
