More than 300,000 extra premises¹ will be connected to the National Broadband Network than originally planned. NBN coverage² maps to be unveiled today by the Federal Government show the network will provide fibre optic coverage to 93 per cent of residences. That's up from its original estimate of 90 per cent.

The former Labor³ leader Mark Latham believes Kevin Rudd is behind the Cabinet leaks that have undermined Julia Gillard's election campaign. And a woman has confessed to suffocating¹⁵ eight newborn children and hiding their bodies in a village in France. The bodies were found wrapped in plastic bags at two homes near the northern city of Lille.
