 Rupert Murdoch has down played his political influence. The news corporation boss told British inquiry¹ into media  risk said he has never asked any prime ministers for favors. Mr. Murdoch quotes being questioned about his relationship with former British prime ministers. 

The Labor² MP Craig Thompson wants to stop a senate committee from a publicly releasing report that alleged³ misused⁴ funds the union he used to head. Fair Work Australia has found a raft of contriventions that health services union. Mr. Thompson has strenuously⁵ denied any wrongdoing during his time at the union.    

Former medical board investigater says systemic failures in Queensland's health system putting patients' lives at risk. J. A welfare group says the federal government should cut poorly targetted subsidies⁷ and tax concessions⁸ in next month's budget. The Australian Councillor of social services says it could save 8 billion dollars a year. It's made several suggestions which include abolishing the education tax refund⁹. 

France says the Security Council should consider using force in Syria if the UN peace plan fails to stop the violence. France's foreign minister Alan Shepay is calling for a rapid increase in the deployment¹⁰ of UN observers. He says Syria doesn't comply with the ceasefire by early next month, the security council should take action.
