 Good Morning. Opposition¹ leader Tony Abott has used his budget reply speech to call on Labor² to change its leader. He's accused Labor of waging class warfare³, and ridiculed⁴ the prejected $1.5 billion surplus. He's promised to find savings⁵ to cover tax cuts, but hasn't identified just where they would come from. 

 

A candle-lit vigil has been held in a quare in the Syrian capital Damascus for the victims of a double bombing.At least 55 people were killed and nearly 400 wounded in that attack. 

 

The former news of the World Editor Andy Coulson has denied he was employed as the British Prime Minister's Press Secretary because of his links to News International. Mr. Coulson has been giving evidence to the Leveson Inquiry⁶ into phone hacking⁷. 

 

Police are investigating the murder of Brisbane mom Allison Baden-Clay last night set up a road block near the family home. Detectives are wanting to hear from anyone who drove along Brookfield Rd at Kenmore on the night she was reported missing. Ms. Baden-Clay's funeral will be held later this morning.
