A senior Australian diplomat¹ is on his way to Libya to seek the release of an Australian lawyer detained there on spying charges, Melinda Taylor is one of four lawyers from the international criminal court detained by rebels last Thursday. A team from the ICC has also arrived in Tripoli to try to secure her release.

 

Homes across the Perth and the southwest of WA could be without power for several days because of that wild storm, about 120,000 homes remain without power, emergency crews work through the night to repair houses and powerlines, and clear debris² from across roads.
