 South Korea's Samsung group has won a five-billion-dollar contract to redevelop Western Australia's Roy Hill iron ore mining project. The company confirmed the contract is to build a process plant to export iron ore as well as a railway line and port infrastructure¹ at Port Hedland. Roy Hill holdings is predominately owned by Gina Rinehart's compay Hancock Prospecting².

 

China's consumer watchdog is reportedly ramping³ up its scrutiny⁴ of Apple products amid a wave of bad publicity⁵ in the country. Authorities are being urged to keep a close eye on Apple's warranty⁶ policies. China's state media has accused Apple of offering a discriminatory after sale service in China, including shorter warranty periods.

 

And fourth-quarter growth in United State's economy was faster than originally thought, the economy grew 0.4%, largely thanks to increase investments in plant and equipment, that's up from the anticipate 0.1%, despite the upward supervision⁷, the department of commerce warned that the economy remained sluggish⁸.
