59 Swimming
When I was¹ a boy, I liked swimming very much. Once my two brothers and I spentthe summer holidays with my uncle and aunt in their house by the sea. It wasonly twenty meters² from the water. Every day we put on our swimming shortsbefore breakfast, ran⁴ down to the sea across⁵ the sand and jumped in. From thenuntil late at night, we were in the sea or on the beach most of the time. Whenour aunt rang a bell, we went back to the house for food, but we ate³ it in ourswimming shorts and were soon back in the sea again.
The water was warm, the sun shone⁶ everyday⁷, and on most days there were nowaves. In the middle of the day a wind always began to blow but it was notstrong and did⁸ not make the sea rough⁹.
