Taiwan singer Jay Chou apologized to a security officer again in a video clip after telling off the guard during a concert.

The clash happened during Chou's concert in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sunday, which was the second day of this year's Labor1 Day holiday. Upon seeing a security officer taking away a fan's illuminated2 sign and putting it on the ground, Chou first asked the officer to give the sign back to the fan, but he then shouted to the officer to get out of the site, using expletives.

Chou's behavior, while being hailed by many fans at the concert, also caused some controversy3.

According to another policeman who was also working on the site, the fan stood on the chair and lifted her illuminated sign again and again, disregarding the safety and viewing experience of others and repeated warning from the security staff.

Netizens split into two groups after the video of the clash was put online. Some said Chou just wanted to protect the rights of his fans, while others thought the singer didn't respect the security officers who were working to keep order at the concert.

Shortly after the concert, Chou published a written statement on the official Weibo account of his agency to apologize to the officer, saying he felt sorry for the fan, which made him impetuous to say the rude words. "I want to say sorry to the officer. I didn't mean it. I am grateful to the security officers for keeping the order of the concert," read the statement.

Chou made another apology in a video released Monday afternoon. In the video, Chou thanked the security officers who worked at the concert and apologized again to the officer that he told off.

According to the official Weibo account of Chou's concert tour, Chou has also sent a letter of apology to the security command and was reportedly forgiven.

After Chou's apologies, many of his fans also apologized online for their angry comments that were previously4 posted towards the police officer.
