With school back in session, a lesson in back to school beauty has never been more important.

Hi, I'm Jessica Liebeskind, make-up artist and lifestyle beauty expert. And in make-up101, the first thing you need to know is that looking simple is looking smart.

This fall is really not about a whole lot of make-up. When you're a student, it is really important to know that is about age appropriate beauty and place appropriate beauty. So when in school, just use a few key products.

I love a clear brow gel. It is not always necessary to use one that comes in an attentive¹ format² unless that's something you prefer. It's just gonna give you that extra strength and extra definition, but when you're going to school, you just wanna look polished, you wanna look pretty and you wanna look groomed.

Another really important product to use is mascara. A dark brown mascara is great for blonds, and great for redheads. And a dark black mascara is great for brunettes. Make sure that when you're using a mascara, you use a curler to go with it, because that will really give you that extra strength and extra pop around the eye, make sure you're going from the base to the tip that's gonna give it that extra depth and just use a tiny bit on bottom, otherwise the eyes can look overdone⁴ and the lashes⁵ come up too spidery.

Another great product is a really creamy blush. Blushes come all different types of colors and textures⁶, but with a cream blush and a shade that's soft, and warm, and dewy, just like the flush of your skin. It is bound to make your cheeks look great this fall.

Lastly, a lip color that looks just like your lips when you're not wearing any make-up at all. It is definitely fool-proof and mistake-proof. When you use a creamy matte lip color, it just looks lush, it looks nice, and it doesn’t ever look overdone.

Remember you have the night time to put on your glosses⁷ and your shimmers⁸, so just keep the look pretty, polished, and simple.
