Thorntree country is like a vast city on the plains. It is crowded with residents looking for food, accommodation and social contact.
In a comfort to the canopy, there is a new incentive to get up this morning. The tallest umbrella thorntrees are bursting into flower. Their sweet smell draws many visitors like Vervet monkeys. Vervet monkeys rob some of the flowers. But most are left to insects. As they move among the blossoms in search of nectar, they carry up the vital process of pollination, fertilizing the trees to make seeds.
