 Breakfast over, I made my way ashore¹.  早餐完了，我就到地上去。

The Nautilus had gone a few more miles during the night.  诺第留斯号在夜间又向上前进了好几海里。

It lay well out, a good league from the coast, which was crowned by a sharp peak 400 to 500 meters high.  船正在大海中，距岸整整有一里，岸上有高四百至五百米的尖峰矗立。

In addition to me, the skiff carried Captain Nemo, two crewmen, and the instruments-in other words, a chronometer², a spyglass, and a barometer³. 小艇载了我和尼摩船长，两个船员，以及仪器，即航海时计、望远镜和晴雨表。

During our crossing I saw numerous baleen⁴ whales belonging to the three species unique to these southernmost seas:  当我们的船走过的时候，我看见许多鲸鱼，它们是属于南极特有的三种鲸：
