1. President Bush has lifted an executive ban on offshore¹ oil drilling. But the move, by itself, will do nothing unless Congress acts as well. The ban has stood since his father Bush Senior, was president.

 4. And three rare white lion cubs⁷ made their debut⁸ at a safari⁹ park in Germany. A total of seven were born to two different mothers in what the park staff called "a giant surprise" . That's because the mothers had not given birth at the same time in at least 40 years.
