 3. Crews in the San Francisco area are racing² to repair a crack discovered in a steel link that holds up the Bay Bridge. California transportation officials say it's going to be quite a challenge to get the problem fixed³ and have the bridge reopen in time for the Tuesday morning rush.

 4. An attorney for San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman says he's confident his client will not be charged in an alleged⁴ attack on his reality star girlfriend. Merriman was arrested Sunday and accused of choking MTV star Tila Tequila. Police say deputies determined⁵ Tequila had been drinking.
