The Federal Reserve Board raised interest rates after 7 years of record lows. And the officials there signaling further rate hikes will likely be made slowly. They'll be watching to see if the economy gets stronger.

The US added a new bulletin category to its terror alert system. The Homeland Security Secretary unveiled the update on Wednesday, and issued his first bulletin meant to keep the public better informed of terror threats.

In Cleveland, a secret santa paid for more than 100,000-dollars worth of Wal-Mart goods for other customers. The anonymous¹ donor² paid for layaway items at 2 Wal-Mart stores, helping³ out about 200 customers during the holiday season.

The National Zoo's youngest giant panda cub⁴ is ready for it's closeup. Nearly 4-month-old Bei Bei debuts⁵ to the media, weighing more than 17 pounds. Yet unnerved by extra attention, the young cub fell asleep and drooled as media looked on.
