1. One person is dead and police are searching for suspects following a shooting at a freedom-of-speech event in Copenhagen, Denmark. Authorities say the event was organized by a Swedish artist, who's faced numerous threats for caricature of Muhammad.

2. Authorities say a 20-year-old Canadian man and 23-year-old Illinois woman have been charged to deploy¹ plot to attack a mall in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They say a third suspect shot and killed himself after police surrounded his home.

3. Ukraine forces and Russia-backed separatists countered each other with artillery² fire Saturday as an agreed-upon ceasefire drew near. Ukraine's president says he will impose martial³ law if the fighting doesn't stop.

4. New England is bracing⁴ for another storm, the 4th in a region that has record snow during the past weeks. The National Weather Service says a foot of snow could fall in Boston with twice that amount in parts of Maine.
