Jared Fogle, the longtime subway pitchman agreed to plead guilty Wednesday to allegations that he paid for sexual acts with minors¹ and received child pornography. The case could send him to prison for more than a decade.

High winds and strained resources are complicating² efforts to battle wildfires raging across the West. In Washington, the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for the eastern portion of the state as high winds picked up and temperatures rose to above 90 degrees.

Forensic³ police in Italy today examined the bodies of 49 people who suffocated⁴ in an overcrowded fishing boat. More than 100,000 migrants have crossed the Mediterranean⁵ to Italy this year. And hundreds have died in the process.

Back stateside, a win for supporters of the little pink pill. The Food and Drug Administration approved the first prescription⁶ drug designed to boost sexual desire in women after previously⁷ rejecting it twice.
