A state legislator from Kentucky was found dead in apparent suicide. Republican Dan Johnson had denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in 2013.

Republican Roy Moore released a video statement saying he is still waiting for a final vote count in the Alabama senate race. Unofficial results show him losing to democrat² Doug Jones by about 20,000 votes.

Parts of Michigan are under a winter storm warning as fierce wintry weather rolls in. The storm could drop 8 inches of snow in some places on Thursday, on top of Wednesday's heavy snowfall.
