After two years of waiting, the Department of Justice released a redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report, revealing that President Donald Trump¹ tried to seize control of the Russia investigation², and force Muller's removal to stop a potential obstruction³ of justice investigation.

Reaction from Democrats⁴ was swift. Some said the report showed troubling details about the President's conduct in the White House, saying the President stepped far over the line to derail the investigation.

The Kremlin says North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will visit Russia later this month. The announcement came hours after North Korea test-fired a new type of "tactical guided weapon".

And France paid a daylong tribute to the Paris firefighters who saved the Notre Dame⁵ cathedral from collapse⁶. More than 400 firefighters took part in the 9-hour battle on Monday to save the 12th-century church and its treasures.
