Tire shops around the state are busy these days. Why? Blowouts due to potholes¹.

But why are there so many potholes when we've been paying more in fees and fuel taxes?

Zach Gorchow, editor of Gongwer News Service, joined Stateside today to explain. He recently wrote a blog titled, "Imploding² Roads Natural Consequence Of 2015 Plan."

He also explains how likely it is future legislators will actually spend the allotted⁵ general fund money on roads, and what it might take before Michigan is willing to pay sufficiently⁶ to maintain the roads.
