Topic2 New physical standards stress upper body strength for male studentsChina's Ministry¹ of Education has just publicized new national standards on the physical health of the country's students.

The new standards, to be implemented² this coming September, requires males students above grade six to be tested for pull-ups as a compulsory³ item.

And something new for primary school students, too—they will be tested for rope skipping. Test performances will count as part of their overall school performance assessment⁴.
