Good afternoon, I'm Naamua Delaney at the CNN Center in Atlanta. Here is a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

President Bush is enforcing tougher sanctions against Zimbabwe. He signed an order today, freezing the assets of more Zimbabwean companies and barring US citizens from doing business with them. The new sanctions package is a result of last month's run-off election in Zimbabwe. President Robert Mugabe ran essentially1 unopposed amid allegations of politically motivated violence. President Bush calls the Mugabe government "an illegitimate regime".

Safety inspectors2 from Australia's Qantas Airlines are in Manila, investigating what caused a Qantas jumbo jet to make an emergency landing. Passengers on board the Hong Kong to Melbourne flight said they heard a bang and then a hole opened up where the wind meets the fuselage, depressurizing the cabin. No injuries were reported. A TSA official tells CNN that a preliminary investigation3 shows no connection to terrorism, adding that the damage appears to be related to a mechanical issue.

Democrat4 Barack Obama continues his overseas tour in France today where he met with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Obama's Republican rival Senator John McCain is in Colorado where he spoke5 to a veterans convention. Later he plans to meet with the Dalai Lama.

People in South Texas will be cleaning up the mess from what was Hurricane Dolly for a while. Insurance estimators put storm losses at about 750 million dollars. More than 150,000 people were without power this morning. Health officials are now warning people there about health hazards in flood waters.

Americans appear to be paying less for gas today .The average price for a gallon of regular is down a full two cents this morning to $4.01 a gallon. Oklahoma has the lowest average price in the country at about ($)3.77.

Well, those are the headlines this hour. Do stay with CNN for more on these stories and the other news of the day.
