第九课 春天的声音

I come, I come! ye have called me long;

我来了，我来了！你们呼唤我很久了；

I come o'er the mountains with light and song:

我伴着光亮与歌声翻山越岭：

Ye may trace my step o'er the wakening earth,

你们在觉醒的大地上追逐着我的脚步，

By the winds which tell of the violet's birth,

By the primrose¹ stars in the shadowy grass,

By the green leaves opening as I pass.

I have breathed on the South, and the chestnut² flowers.

By thousands, have burst from the forest bowers³;

And the ancient graves, and the fallen fanes,

Are veiled with wreaths on Italian plains. —

But it is not for me, in my hour of bloom,

I have looked on the hills of the stormy North,

And the larch⁴ has hung all his tassels⁵ forth⁶;

The fisher is out on the sunny sea,
