英闻天下——89 China Monitoring Japanese Encroachment on Diaoyu Islands

 　　China says it opposes any infringement¹ on its sovereignty over the Diaoyu Islands committed by Japanese aircraft or vessels² and remains³ vigilant⁴ against attempts to commit such acts.

　　"The Diaoyu Island and its affiliated⁶ islets have been China's inherent territory. Patrols conducted by Chinese planes and ships in waters off the islands represent normal administrative⁷ activities for the purpose of exercising jurisdiction⁸."

 

　　This is in response of Japan's allegedly warning shots at Chinese planes patrolling the islands.

 

　　China's Defense⁹ Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said last month that the country's military is closely monitoring the activities of Japanese air self-defense forces near the islands.
