 　　Brad called his parents. He asked his mom to put Dad on the other phone. "I need to talk to both of you," Brad said¹. His dad got² on the other phone. Brad said, "This is very difficult for me. I told you before that Sue³ and I are having financial⁴ problems⁵. We might⁶ not last another year here in Manhattan. If worse⁷ comes to worst⁸, can we move in with you? You two are living⁹ alone¹⁰ in that big house. We could¹¹ help out around there." His dad said, "We don't need any help. And you should try harder. Do you think I own¹² this house because I was¹³ a quitter? If you believe¹⁴ in yourself¹⁵, you can make it there. Now, think about visiting us for Christmas." His mom said, "Brad, we've got to go. We're going¹⁶ to be late for our tee time. Take care¹⁷. Love you!"
