WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary1 Fund (IMF) announced Friday that it has completed the third review of Ireland's economic performance that enables the immediate2 disbursement3 of an amount equivalent to 1.32 billion IMF special drawing right (SDR), or about 2.11 billion U.S. dollars, to the nation.
This is the latest effort of the global financial support for the debt-mired country under a 123 billion-dollar bailout program set in December 2010.
"The Irish authorities have maintained
resolute4 implementation5 of their economic program. The economy is showing signs of
stabilization6 and financial market conditions have also recently improved," the Washington-based IMF said in a statement.
However, the global lender cautioned that the economy faces a weakening in trading partner growth, while timely implementation of the program
remains7 essential to support the
ongoing8 recovery, limit
contagion9 risks and rebuild market confidence.
