But first, the day's headline's dominated by the deferral¹ of the much anticipated verdict in the murder trial of the South African athlete Oscar Pistorius, that verdict was expected this morning, but will now be given on Friday. Pistorius had been on trial for killing² his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. He shot her through a locked bathroom door on Valentine's Day last year.
