The reigning² champions and early season favourites to retain their crown were just demolished³ by Real Madrid's perfectly⁴ executed counterattacking. Centre-half Sergio Ramos scored the first two, almost carbon copy headers from set pieces. Gareth Bale did very well to create the third goal of the night for Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese⁵ completed the route for the clever free-kick at the end.
