It's the morning of September 11th 1973. The Chilean military is on the march, determined¹ to overthrow² Allende's socialist³ government. In the suburb of Santiago, Victor Jara, the hugely popular folk singer, theatre director, and supporter of Allende, is at home, listening to the radio with horror as the coup⁴ unfolds.
