The latest to make way is Enrico Letta who's just handed in his resignation to the country's President Giorgio Napolitano. Mr Letta had been in the job less than ten months having taken over from Mario Monti. It's expected the president will now ask centre-left leader Matteo Renzi, the mayor of Florence, to take over.
