三、句子的特征、种类和类型
句子特征，句子是人们传递信息、表达或交流思想的最基本的语言单位。更准确的说，句子是能够单独存在并能表达一个相对完整意思的语法单位。句子有一定的语法结构和一定的语调，句子开头第一个字母必须大写，句末必须有句号、或问号或惊叹号。
句子的种类，按照句子的用途来分，英语的句子有下列四种。
陈述句，陈述句用来叙述一项肯定或否定的事实。句末用句号，读降调。其结构形式为主语+谓语。否定形式是在助动词或形态动词后加not。
如As they say,when the ages in the wisdom out.人们说，年纪大了智慧便枯竭了。
We can't live without air and water.没有空气和水我们就活不了。
疑问句，疑问句用来提出问题。疑问句又可分为四类，一般疑问句、特殊疑问句、选择疑问句和反意疑问句。
