Mary is just a friend, that’s all. I didn’t expect⁷ to see her that night; we didn’t have a date, or anything. I mean it; please believe⁸ me. Anyway⁹, what I wanted to say was³ this: I really like you very much, Kristi; I have a very good time at the match with you. What happened at your hotel and back here was all quite funny, wasn’t it? I hope¹⁰ we can forget about it all, and try again soon. I remember you said¹¹ that you liked opera¹². Well, I have two tickets for Puccini’s “ Madam Butterfly” next Friday. I do hope you cam come. I’ve thought¹³ about you a lot since¹⁴ that evening.
