　　Garcia-Margallo told a press conference with his Algerian counterpart Mourad Medelci that "We have launched some 100 investment projects in various fields so far, making Spain the fourth largest investor in Algeria, but we want to become the largest investor in the forthcoming years."

　　Spain has investments worth 10 billion euros (13.3 billion U.S. dollars) in Algeria in various sectors², including housing and public works, APS news agency quoted an economic advisor³ at the Spanish Embassy in Algeria, Fernando Lanzas, as saying on Tuesday.

　　Meanwhile, Garcia-Margallo said the two nations have signed an agreement related to visa facilitation to encourage the mobility⁴ of people, adding that "We have just approved this agreement and we shall be ratifying⁵ it very soon."

　　For his part, Algerian foreign minister said he discussed several issues of common interest with his Spanish guest, including bilateral⁶ political and economic cooperation, the situation in the troubled Mali, the crisis in Syria, the situation in Libya, and the issue of the Western Sahara.
