　　ANKARA, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Turkey dismissed about 350 police officers in the capital Ankara overnight amid a corruption¹ probe, private Dogan news agency reported Tuesday.

　　The officers were sacked by a government decree issued at midnight which included chiefs of financial crimes, cybercrimes, anti-smuggling and organized crime units.

　　Some 250 police officers have been appointed to replace the sacked officers, according to local NTV on Tuesday.

　　More than 80 people, including some prominent businessmen close to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and sons of three ministers, were detained on Dec. 17 as part of the probe into tender fraud and bribery² allegations.

　　Soon afterwards, Environment Minister Erdogan Bayraktar, Interior Minister Muammer Guler and Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan announced their resignation. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan then launched a major cabinet reshuffle.

　　The investigation³ exposed a bitter feud⁴ between Erdogan's government and an influential⁵ U.S.-based Muslim cleric, Fetullah Gulen, who wields⁶ influence over police and judiciary, according to local media.
