委内瑞拉副总统警告反对派不要被操纵
CARACAS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan
Vice1 President Jorge Arreaza on Monday warned the country's
opposition2 and its
followers3 against the "
fascist4" elements in the ring-wing groups, which he
alleged5 have orchestrated protest violence that claimed three lives over the past few days.
"The people who follow the opposition should not be manipulated by the plans and
hatred6 of the fascist
sector7 of the right-wing groups," Arreaza wrote in his Twitter account. "I hope the opposition leaders that accepted the dialogue proposed by President Nicolas Maduro will not be manipulated again by the
fascists8."
While
trumpeting9 the country's Constitution allows the protests within the legal frame, the vice president warned it is necessary for people to act with
awareness10 to strengthen national
unity11.
President Nicolas Maduro has announced a decision to expel three U.S. Embassy officials, accusing them of
conspiring12 against his government.
In a recent interview with a local TV service, Ernesto Villegas, the minister of Urban
Transformation13 of Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, also alleged that the recent street violence in Caracas and other states are part of a
systematic14 plan of the U.S. government to
overthrow15 the Bolivarian Revolution, a leftist social movement and political process now led by Maduro.
"The owners of this circus are in Washington," he said, urging the Venezuelan people to support peace building process in the country.
The Parliament of the Common Market of the South (Mercosur), an economic
integration16 entity17, announced Monday that it would send an observation mission to Venezuela to help address its internal conflict. "Venezuelans should resolve their problems without any foreign
intervention18, toward the building of the South American unity," it said.
The unrest in Venezuela, ignited by the anti-government protests, killed three and injured 70 in the past days.
