1. President Barack Obama says financial industry lobbyists have failed in their attempt to block a major Wall Street reform bill from coming to a vote. Obama heralded a breakthrough for his domestic agenda as the Senate cleared the way for final passage of financial regulation bill.

2. The White House is asking BP to publicly disclose more information about the Gulf oil spill, including measurements of the size of the leak and air quality. A live video availably posted online shows what appears to be a large plume of oil and gas still spewing next to that’s carrying some of it to the surface.

3. Authorities say two Arkansas police officers were shot and killed during a traffic stop and a short time later, the suspects were killed in a shootout with a sheriff and deputy.

4. Lance Armstrong has denied allegations made by disgraced American cyclist Floyd Landis. Landis has admitted to a systematic use of performance-enhancing drugs and accused Armstrong of paying international cycling officials to cover up a positive test in emails obtained by the Associated Press.
