1. Democrat Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas has narrowly won nomination to a third Senate term. She's one of several women to win their primary battles. In California, Carly Fiorina won the Republican senatorial nomination, and Meg Whitman won the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

2. A sheriff's officer says investigators are limiting their search for seven-year-old Kyron Horman to the Portland, Oregon metro area. This despite tips coming in from as far away as Washington state. Horman disappeared Friday after a science fair at his elementary school.

3. Peruvian police plan to take Joran van der Sloot back to his Lima hotel room today to visit the crime scene. A police spokesman says van der Sloot confessed to killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores earlier in the week. Authorities have until this weekend to file criminal charges.

4. Stephen Strasburg's major league debut left little to be desired. The Washington Nationals’ phenom made his first start yesterday. Strasburg left seven innings, giving up just two runs and striking out 14. Strasburg also got to win, beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2.
