1. Hundreds of people on both sides of a controversy over a proposed mosque and community center near Zero Ground rallied Sunday. A crowd of demonstrators against the project stood behind police barricades three blocks from the World Trade Center site. Nearby, several hundred people who support the mosque chanted “Muslims are welcome here!” to say no to racist fear.

 

2. A huge fire burned in an abandoned industrial complex in Boston. No one was hurt in the blaze, which firefighters said is bigger than any they’d seen in 20 to 30 years. A hundred and sixty firefighters fought the flames.

 

3. Hip-hop singer Wyclef Jean says he is not abandoning his presidential bid just yet. He'll send a lawyer to a Haitian court to appeal a decision rejecting his candidacy. The court ruled him ineligible Friday night.

 

4. A hundred fifty women wore wedding dresses to help raise money for a sick five-year-old boy. The event is held each year in Poland, this year help the boy with epilepsy, autism, and heart and kidney defects.
