Prosecutors have filed theft charges against the Washington State woman who claimed that she had been attacked by a woman who threw acid on her, then later admitted she did it herself. An arrest warrant has also been issued for Bethany Storro. The criminal charges relate to a public fund that was set up to benefit the 28-year-old. She had to be hospitalized after suffering painful burns to her face. Thousands of dollars were donated to help her. According to court documents, Storro said she was trying to kill herself when she put what is believed to be drain cleaner on her face. A local paper quotes the documents as saying, that she told investigators "When I realized it wasn't killing me, I thought maybe this was the answer to all my problems." Storro was recently divorced and have moved in with her parents. They have apologized for the hoax and say all the money that was raised for their daughter will be returned.
