1. Law enforcement officials believe the gunman who opened fire with an AK-47 at the University of Texas campus library before killing himself was a student who acted alone. Police have now ruled out the possibility of a second shooter. Officials say the man fired with an assault rifle on the sixth floor of the library before killing himself.

2. A grandson of former President Jimmy Carter says he’s resting comfortably at a Cleveland hospital after being taken there with an upset stomach. The Carter Center says he felt ill on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Cleveland.

3. Disaster officials in Mexico say at least seven people are known dead after a hillside collapsed on hundreds of sleeping residents in a rural town. A hundred people are confirmed missing, but the toll could rise much higher.

4. White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is running for mayor in Chicago. He won't be welcomed into the home where he used to live. The current tenants recently extended their lease and have said no to Emanuel's request to move out
