1. President Barack Obama is challenging voters to stick with Democrats, saying Republicans can only hope Americans forget, which party brought them what he calls “a lost decade.” President closed a four-day campaign swing at a rally in Minneapolis for former senator Mark Dayton who's running for governor of Minnesota.

 

2. Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is urging supporters not to let up even though the GOP may have the momentum leading into the midterm elections. Palin took aim at the president, saying he needed to apologize to the 14.8 million people who unemployed across the country.

 

3. Aid groups are boosting efforts to keep a cholera outbreak in rural Haiti from reaching earthquake survivors in crowded camps in the country's capital, Port-au-Prince. Health officials say more than 200 people have died and nearly 2700 people have been infected by the outbreak, which has been centered in the rural region north of Haiti's capital.

 

4. Tropical storm Richard is heading toward the Central American country of Belize, where the government has issued a hurricane warning for the entire coast. The storm has been slashing the Caribbean Coast of Honduras with strong winds and heavy rain.
