Frank:Do you like cooking?
Jane:Yes, I do a lot. But I don’t like doing dishes. What about you? Do you like cooking and then cleaning up afterwards?
Frank:To be honest, I don’t really like doing either one. I can’t cook and I hate cleaning.
Jane:Suppose you have to do one of the two, which do you prefer?

Jane:What?
Frank:I’m going to buy some vegetables and you cook.

We spent all Saturday morning cleaning up.(我们整个周六上午都在打扫卫生。)

We're planning to clean up the beaches.(我们计划清理海滩。)

还有一个词组“clean up after **.”

用英语可以解释为:make a place clean after someone has used it,

例如:John always expects other people to clean up after him.(约翰总是想着让别人在他屁股后面收拾。)

例如:-I think we should split the bill.

-I'm just annoyed with him because he's behaved so badly. -Fair enough.(-
