1. An army staff sergeant has been given a Medal of Honor. President Barack Obama awarded the medal to Salvatore Giunta, the first living service member from Iraq or Afghanistan wars to be so honored.

 

2. Congressman Charles Rangel of New York is denouncing a decision of an ethics panel to convict him on 11 counts. Rangel says he was deprived of due process rights and the right to counsel.

 

3. A judge has set a one-million-dollar bond for an Ohio man accused of keeping a 13-year-old girl bound and gagged in his basement. The girl’s brother, mother and a family friend remain missing.

 

4. Britain’s Prince William says it was a way of making sure that his mother, the late Princess Diana, didn’t miss out on the upcoming royal wedding. William says he’s given his fiancee Kate Middleton the engagement ring that was once worn by his mother.
