1. The White House says President Barack Obama received 12 stitches in his lip after being hit during a pickup basketball game. Spokesman Robert Gibbs says the president was inadvertently struck by someone's elbow.

2. Early signs are pointing to bigger crowds at many stores for the traditional start of holiday shopping season. And many shoppers appear to be buying for themselves, more so than last year.

3. Dozens of officers and volunteers resume their efforts to find any sign of 20-year-old Jenni-Lyn Watson. Watson is a junior dance major. Authorities say she returned home from college last Thursday and was reported missing the next day.

4. And 'tis now the season in Washington DC. A day after celebrating Thanksgiving, the White House shifted into Christmas mode. Michelle Obama and her daughters, Malia and Sasha, received the 18.5-foot Douglas fir that will become the official White House Christmas tree.
