[00:04.97]to the museum of science had an amazing escape,
[00:07.92]after their trolleybus crashed
[00:09.48]into a greengrocer's truck on Park Avenue.
[00:12.71]The accident, which took place in Kingston,
[00:14.98]a town southwest of London,
[00:16.87]happened because of the fog.
[00:18.82]The 60-year-old driver of the truck
[00:20.60]did not know that he was parked
[00:22.13]in the way of the trolleybus.
[00:23.93]When the driver finally discovered
[00:25.59]the trolleybus coming towards him
[00:27.44]through the fog,
[00:28.19]he tried to move but his tyres got stuck
[00:30.65]in the muddy ground.
[00:32.28]At the last minute,he jumped out of the truck,
[00:35.10]hurting his ankle,before the trolleybus crashed
[00:38.92]into the truck, pushing it 20 yards.
[00:41.38]"I would have been killed
[00:42.07]if I'd stayed in the truck,"he said afterwards.
[00:45.21]A spokesman for the police said,
[00:47.03]"It's amazing that no one was badly hurt.
[00:49.83]When we arrived at the scence,
[00:51.15]we called an ambulance
[00:52.21]as we saw blood everywhere.
[00:54.05]We soon realized, however,
[00:55.55]that the blood was really strawberry juice!
[00:58.17]The greengrocer's truck had been carrying
[00:59.79]a load of fresh strawberries."
[01:01.97]He praised the bravery of the astronomers
[01:03.63]who were helped out of the windows
[01:05.26]of the trolleybus by firemen.
