[00:13.81]KINO WAS A POOR PEARL DIVER.
[00:17.14]One day his baby was stung by a scorpion,
[00:20.64]so he took the baby to the doctor.
[00:23.38]But Kino didn't have any money.
[00:26.12]He only had some very poor quality pearls.
[00:29.63]The doctor didn't want to treat the baby,
[00:32.07]so the doctor's servant lied to Kino:
[00:35.06]"The doctor has gone out."
[00:37.66]That day, Kino went diving for pearls.
[00:41.48]When he was diving he saw a very large oyster.
[00:45.59]He swam down and down
[00:47.53]and picked up the oyster.
[00:49.50]Then he came to the surfuce.
[00:55.36]He took his knife and opened the shell
[00:57.63]of the oyster.
[00:59.31]Inside, there was an enormous

[01:03.91]the greatst pearl in the world!
[01:07.17]Kino and his wife Juana were very happy.

[01:13.22]to educate their son and maybe buy new clothes
[01:16.39]and even a rifle.The news of the pearl
[01:20.51]spread through the town very quickly.
[01:22.98]That evening, lots of neighbours

[01:28.84]and Juana could do with the money.
