1. More trouble at Japan’s tsunami-damaged nuclear plant. Workers were evacuated after smoke was spotted at one of the reactor buildings. Meanwhile, some food shipments have been halted over radiation concerns.

2. The Pentagon says airstrikes have scattered Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi's forces. Missiles and precision bombs pounded Gadhafi's residential compound in Tripoli. The US is now moving to hand control of the military operation to other countries.

3. There are flooding fears in the Mid-west and California. Heavy rain and winds pounded parts of the Pacific Coast, causing power outages and down trees. Rising rivers have promoted evacuation in some southern Illinois neighborhoods.

4. And firefighters had to work quickly to stop a grass fire in an Oklahoma City neighborhood. Strong winds wiped flames perilously close to homes. One firefighter suffered minor burns.
