Good morning.

The Royal Commission’s interim report into the Black Saturday bushfires will be released later today. It is expected to recommend major changes to Victoria’s  controversial “stay or go” policy.

Australia’s biggest cotton farm is up for sale. Cubbie Station has been valued at more than 450 million dollars, that includes the property’s water permits. Cubbie has the capacity to store enough water to fill Sydney Harbor. The Federal Government won’t say if it will bid for the property.

Opinion polls continue to give the Federal Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull a headache. The latest Nielsen poll published in Fairfax newspapers shows Labor leads the Coalition 56 to 44 on a two-party preferred basis. Peter Costrello and Joe Hockey are preferred Liberal leaders ahead of Mr. Turnbull.

And Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt has smashed his own world record in the 100 meters’ final at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin. He ran it in 9.58 seconds, breaking his record by 0.11 seconds.
