 The only man to be convicted of the Lockerbie bombing is back home in Libya after being released from the Scottish prison. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was freed on compassionate grounds, he has terminal cancer, al-Megrahi was jailed for blowing up an American passenger plane over Lockerbie in 1988, killing 270 people.

 Afghanistan’s president has praised his citizens for defying threats of violence to vote in yesterday’s election. Security forces say they prevented many major acts of violence taking place. Results aren’t expected until September.

 A vet who contracted Hendra virus remains dangerously ill in a Brisbane hospital. He treated infected horses at the Rockhampton property in central Queensland. Experts say the illness is hard to treat. Three people have so far died from Hendra virus. 

And the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt has done it again, he’s broken the 200-meter world record. Bolt set the time of 19.19 seconds to demolish his previous record of 19.3. Meanwhile world athletic administrators have been slammed.
